About Us

With a wealth of over two decades of experience in cross-cultural ministry across the Pacific Islands, our team is proud to share our insights into the Pacific Oceania Christian movement. Our journey takes us back to 1928 when the Pentecostal movement made its mark on the heart of Polynesia, after nearly a century of Christian influence on Samoan culture.

From its modest beginnings, the Samoan Assemblies of God has grown to establish 100 churches, serving a congregation of over 20,000 devoted adherents. In addition to these vibrant communities of faith, our efforts have led to the founding of three Bible Schools, numerous overseas Samoan congregations, and the revitalization of the Samoan missionary movement.

Amidst the backdrop of the “Roaring Twenties” and the decadence of Western culture, the Pentecostal, full-gospel message took root in the rich cultural soil of “the heart of Polynesia.”

As you explore our journey, you will discover our commitment to both experiential learning and formal academic education, ensuring that the fervor and power of the Pentecostal message remain steadfast and impactful.

Just as the original Samoan cultural soil was prepared for the arrival of Christianity in the nineteenth century, the twentieth century witnessed the rejuvenating empowerment of the Pentecostal message, carried on the wings of ancient cultural motifs. In much the same way that ancient Samoans were promised empowerment by Nafanua, our twentieth-century Samoan leaders experienced the empowerment of God’s Holy Spirit.

We invite you to explore this remarkable tapestry of history, faith, and culture that has shaped the Pacific Oceania Christian movement. Our journey is a testament to the enduring power of spirituality and the remarkable resilience of faith in the face of cultural shifts and challenges.
